Recently, my neighbor dropped by to visit my Mum, and in a gesture of hospitality, I offered her tea and some snacks. While she appreciated the tea, expressing how much she loved it, her parting blessing was singular for me to marry into a good family and find a good husband. This made me think deeply about the societal pressure on marriage, especially on women.

Now, don’t get me wrong; there was no ill intent, and it wasn’t hurtful.
