Introduction: Is Life Truly a Struggle?

What do you think – Is your life a struggle? Or have you been conditioned to believe that life is a struggle? Everyone struggles at some point in life. Let us explore whether struggles are a boon or not.

The Stigma Around Struggles

Struggles are part of everyone’s life, yet we seldom talk about them. Discussing struggles feels embarrassing because we see them as failures or weaknesses. We think struggles are hurdles that must be overcome at all costs. We know they are inevitable, but we must deal with them resolutely.

Often we believe struggles mean something has gone wrong, or we have fallen short in our efforts. Sometimes, we blame fate. Our limbic system treats struggles as threats and seeks ways to keep us safe by avoiding them.

We reinforce this idea with shame, pity, or embarrassment. But have we got it all wrong? The truth is – we have.

When you struggle to achieve something, you try hard despite obstacles in your way. You persevere through adversities to accomplish your goals.

Struggles compel us to find ways to overcome them. This process develops mental and emotional toughness. It helps us bounce back from setbacks and continue moving forward.

Let Struggles Empower You, Not Break You

In the words of S. Paradiso, “when we fight against challenges of life, it is called struggle”. In our lives, we all encounter people who pretend to be helpful in our struggles but actually make us feel pitiful about our lives and ourselves. Rather than relying on others, we must understand that we can fix things ourselves. The belief in our own selves’ capabilities to turn things around, is the epitome of resilience.

Allow people space to experience and voice their struggles elevating their learning and growth. Struggle is something that is to be embraced as it would ignite our fighting spirit, sharpen our skills, and make us formidable.

The Joy of Overcoming Challenges

As Elisabeth Kubler Ross said,” The most beautiful people I have known, are those who have known trials, have known struggles, have known loss and have found their way out of the depth”. In the quest for success, Hard work is the crux while friends and teachers are guides.

We will feel excited when we climb out of the pit, by our own efforts. “The answer to comprehending struggle is not taking away challenges from life but it’s making available more tools to deal with challenges” is what Carol Dweck says.

Sometimes we get tired of struggles and we tend to give up. But do not let struggles break you down, break down the struggles through your relentless efforts, perseverance, resilience and positive thoughts. Remember there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

You Are Capable! Keep Reassuring Yourself

Get up and fight, give your best shot to the challenges that life throws at you. You won’t get success or victory on a platter, you have to work hard methodically and with focus on the target.

Reassure yourself, time and again, that you can do it, you can achieve it. You have capabilities to defy all odds to accomplish what you desire, no matter what life put you against.

Conclusion: Struggles Build the Strength for Tomorrow

Thus, My Dear Friends, struggle is vital to learning, growth, perseverance, and the value of being successful. We should be patient and not panic, if we do not get positive results soon or in our first attempt. Keep making efforts and wait for opportune time to get rewarded for your persistent endeavors.
